Bundling Teams with Office 365 was certainly a big factor for Microsoft being so successful to catch up on chat and videoconferencing (it's safe to say that it was not due the technical “matureness” of the software). Now it unbundles the app and sells it separately due to EU antitrust complaints. Too late, unfortunately.
