#MHL on #MicroUSB was long specified before #Apple switched to #Lightning and unlike #USBc, Lightning hasn't even a very high cycle rate of (dis-)connections.

Companies stopped using proprietary charging cables for their smartphones for years...peripherals have been the last items to make the switch to #USB, but even still most peripherals use either #MicroUSB, #MiniUSB, or #USB. If you're right, that wouldn't have happened *before* the #EU's regulations.

True...however, it works well enough for me. I've switched to using it largely for compatibility reasons; when hanging out with peeps who have #iPhone devices, I want them to be able to charge their phones if they leave their charger at home.

📎 moi je trouve que le #microusb c'est pas fiable comme technologie, c'est trop fragile,, c'est peu-étre volontaire comme choix par les constructeurs parce-que peu couteux, mais moi j'aimerais bien les changer contre le modéle usb au-dessus, parce que si on fait pas attention la connectique se dessoude, en plus des petits condensateur bon marché qu'on trouve trop souvent, deux probléme à identifier à l'achat et se dire c'est beau à l'exterieur mais c'est pas fiable..
