After an exciting winter of drone photography, I was so very much looking forward to the change of seasons. In particular, the breaking up of the ice on Lake Mille Lacs.

For a few moments, I was sure that I would miss it while attending #Midcamp in Chicago last week. However, I returned just in time and it's been great.

Too many good photos, not sure which ones to share. I love the mix of broken ice and open water in this bay near SE corner of lake.

I was a little nervous about flying the drone in Chicago, but found a nice quiet place along the shore.

I have lots of photos very much like this one, but this one is unique in one very nice respect. I'll let you figure it out.
