I came across the site Arda Maps yesterday, and I've got to dig into it.

It's a fairly massive online map of #MiddleEarth but it's open source and you can download data for #QGIS I haven't done this yet, so not sure what it'll look like, but I think I found my next project...

33) In 1985, Games Workshop released their licensed version of ICE's MERP in a nice box. "Middle-Earth Role Playing" had a huge appeal as I'd grown up reading The Hobbit and LoTR. The opportunity to play in the realms of the Third Age was too much.

Coming back to Andy Serkis and his rolling of the R's, it's the dramatic pronunciation of Morgoth, Tar-Minastir, and Númenor that does it.
