okay, it's not just me... the #mongoose #middleware is just really poorly designed. Really frustrating for those of us coming from an #activeRecord world where things are just a lot more mature.

Just wish I hadn't lost the hours I just spent banging my head against this. But at least I know now to avoid trying to do anything non-trivial in middleware.

I'm saying that #Valve is the #LesserOfAllEvils. My #SteamDeck was broken from the start. Thank the #Middleware known as #Steam for that. As soon as you quit steam, the touchpads will stop working, you can no longer move your mouse on the screen in #DesktopMode.

They do spend real money on #Proton but it benefits them. They wouldn't do it if it didn't benefit them.
Still its a good thing they do spend the actual money and that #OpenSource gets #funded.

One thing about the #Middleware #Steam is it's very #interesting to use...very #DopaminFriendly.

The #SteamDeck is a #NecessaryEvil but it's still #Evil.

Compared to #WalledGardens it still has some walls in certain places, like having #hardcoded #input into the #Middleware #Proprietary #SteamSoftware
