Just back from to-night's dog walk, and two things have just occurred to me. Firstly, there haven't been any midgies for a couple of nights. Perhaps, the midgie season is over; woohoo! Secondly, I heard Stags roaring for the first time this year.

I'll need to make a note for next year to determine if these things always happen simultaneously.

On tonight's #DogWalk I saw a Elder in flower. I decided to photograph the flowers.

After about 10 seconds I started to feel a few midgies. After another 30 seconds both #Neachdainn and I had to do a runner. These timings are not an exaggeration, easily the worst midgies this year (so far).

Overcast, damp and cool conditions are the worst for midgies.

Last night I received my first midgie bites of the year.
