The highest peak in the range is Mauher Slieve (Máthair-Shliabh), the mother-mountain, where #Midsummer celebrations in Éblinne’s honor continued until recent times. After several months without night I totally lost track of date and time. I thought it was Monday, so I got up grumpy and started work. Today, I would have loved nothing more than to join one of the many organisations that invited me to join them at #PrideMarch this #midsummer.
Sadly, as I am immune-compromised and currently undergoing medical treatment, so I was unable to participate safely - but I am there in spirit and stand in solidarity with my #LGBTQIA+ community.

Having somewhat sobered up from the sacred midsummer rites, I have reflected upon recent events, and come to the conclusion that deep sea billionaire gazpacho would make a wonderful addition to the traditional summer solstice rituals.

There’s also no reason why we couldn’t be economical about it, and combine assisting refugees and sinking billionaires in a joint operation.

I’m thinking we set sail with a few big ass fucking pirate ships flying the anarcho-queer flag(it’s pride™️ after all and we must not neglect this very fine marketing opportunity), pick up any refugees or other folks in need of a ride, then we send a few greedbellies down to Davy Jones locker, perhaps we can even select the very capitalist scumbuckets responsible for the refugee situ and let the refugees themselves cut the cord as it were.

Then we invade the southern bulwarks of fortress europe, let the canons sing like a thunderous choir, tear down the apartheid walls, dispose of any frontex/coastguard/navy curs that try to stop us, set fire to the halls of power, do some fabulous drugs and dance naked around the ashes where the parliament building used to be.

I’m just spitballing here, mind you. But I really think this could be a fine midsummer tradition fit for the modern age.

This is potato salad. Well, kind of. It has potato in it, but it's not the actual, traditional potato salad that we usually have here. Due to my weird-ass diet restrictions I have to make a different version. It's not quite the same and still makes my stomach a bit wonky, but it's close enough and good enough that I can make and eat it the three, officially required times per year: New Year, First of May and, of course, Midsummer.
