I experienced great joy when cellular serviced worked inside a store THAT REFUSED TO HELP ME OR ANY OTHER EARTHLINGS and instead insisted I use the email they sent so I could fiddle around for several minutes if not a quarter of an hour to do the thing the man could have helped me with in 2 minutes.

I read Babbitt as a kid, but I don’t think that I really grasped how very, tangibly real #midwestern boosterism is until I came to Columbus. It’s part vapid materialism, part provincialism, and part defense mechanism against the doubt that other places might be as good or better than this place.

And I say this as somebody who likes Columbus!

Ok, so this is totally a #Midwestern thing but recently my brother (@gowrone) and I were unable to order our favorite breakfast items from our local #CrackerBarrel. We did eventually determine how to cobble together these items after testing the patience of our server. I took notes on my phone but I figured others might run into this issue so of course I made a blog post about it. Not sure if it will ever help anyone outside my family but what the heck! :D

Today is another rainy, 🌧️foggy, grey day, but I'm glad it isn't snowing as it usually is in March here in my #Midwestern state of #Kansas.

But @uconn is a Land Grant school just like Iowa and Nebraska, and we have a top agriculture program, focused on the kinds of things you can grow and conserve in the Northeast.
