If anyone in this whole fediverse suffers from abdominal #migraines please please tell me if you have found a preventative treatment.

Imitrex, zofran, and a hot bath sometimes will work to abort them, sometimes it takes a couple rounds of that. But when that doesn’t work it’s 1-3 days of hell and now I need to have a 2nd surgery since 2021 because of damage from excessive heaving and straining from my body rejecting every bit of fluid in my body.

This is not sustainable. I was lucky not to catch anything at the hospital in the summer of 2021, I don’t think I’ll be that lucky this time. At least I get financial aid at the hospital so I won’t have to pay the 20% copay. But this is ridiculous.

Hormonal #migraines turn me into a cryptid with untold powers to hibernate in my pitch black bedroom cave before emerging to hunt for carbs. :meow_bread_disappear:

Booo #capoeira is postponed until mid-September. I’ve been wanting to get back into it if my #migraines will possibly let me. I guess I have a month of playing at home and trying to build up my strength before class, but I’ll miss the atmosphere. Hopefully by the time it’s going again I’ll be able to play for longer and/or more reliably.

I discovered that certain ASMR helps me with migraines, but it's a discovery with a downer. So you have a fabulous ASMRtist hitting just the right spot in your brain, and then you can't tell him, "Yeah, right there! Stop wandering!" 🥲

#migraines are miserable.

One of the benefits of getting visual auras with #migraines is that you know when you need to take your medicine to prevent a headache. (Unfortunately, this time I didn't move quickly enough and got a bit of a headache anyway.)

I tried to bake a #cake in the dishwasher tonight. #Migraines make me such an idiot 😅

@cobalt You have my sympathy, for what that may be worth to you. I have only had a couple of #migraines (a couple only went away after I had abandoned trying to get to the bedroom, curled on the floor until a nosebleed hit me) and I would not wish that on anyone.
My dad & stepmom lived near #Phoenix, Apache Junction, 20 years ago, in an old adobe building. They sat in front of floor fans and squirted water into the blades to keep cool. It was only 100f.
Take care of your kid. Being a mom is way tougher than being a dad, IMO.
