We caught a very clear video clip of a mountain lion passing through the backyard on a wildlife camera last night.
This is pretty wild! We're about 10 minutes from the Northwest corner of Mille Lacs Lake.
Mountain Lions are very rare in Minnesota, especially this part of Minnesota.

On my #Drones4Fun adventure, one goal is adding a variety of images to the overall collection. Sometimes, it's not about sharing the best image of the day, but the one that will best compliment what I've already shared or bring something new to the collection.
Given how close I am to farm country, I don't have many agricultural photos.
This is along the north shore of Lake Mille Lacs.

Isle, Minnesota on Lake Mille Lacs. I was passing through this afternoon and took this shot.
I don't have many #urban shots in my collection. Here is one.

This was about a week ago on the south end of Mille Lacs Lake. The migrating ducks were all over the place.
A couple of days ago I posted some photos of the piles of ice that accumulate as the ice goes off Lake Mille Lacs.
This is my official #Drones4Fun entry on that topic.
🙂

After an exciting winter of drone photography, I was so very much looking forward to the change of seasons. In particular, the breaking up of the ice on Lake Mille Lacs.
For a few moments, I was sure that I would miss it while attending #Midcamp in Chicago last week. However, I returned just in time and it's been great.
Too many good photos, not sure which ones to share. I love the mix of broken ice and open water in this bay near SE corner of lake.

In a break from my daily drone photo series, let me share these interesting (not necessarily good) photos taken today.
The ice is coming off Mille Lacs Lake (in early May) and as the wind blows it against shore it grates together and forms piles, up to 10ft high, of ice chips on the ice and near shore.
Photo from last week. Still a little snow and ice at the time. Near Mille Lacs Lake.

Staring at this photo taken yesterday, helps me calm down from my social media induced stress. I'm looking for a bit of sunlight this afternoon.
Life is hard and people can be so very judgemental of choices different from their own. It makes me quite sad and even angry.

Mille Lacs Lake today. It was such a great day for photos, more coming...
Very productive excursion today. Three flights along the east and northern edges of the lake.

#1) It's a bit of a stretch to label photos from lake #MilleLacs as #Cuyuna. But, I like the tag for #Cuyuna for this region.
#2) I've been tagging a bunch of content as #Cayuna and only last night realized that is the wrong spelling. I have a long history in this region, but am not a native. And, I'm a bad speller.
This is from a few weeks ago. It's not the best photograph, but I think it's interesting in that it shows the network of plowed roads and the number of folks out there ice fishing on a big lake like Mille Lacs. Many empty spaces where fish houses have been moved elsewhere on the lake or removed entirely for the night or week.

Still no sun, but found some trees to provide a bit of contrast.
