I figured out how to patch mastodon to change basic stuff like max char limit or favicon.

I was first thinking this should be easy with nixos, simply override the src of the derivation.
but some cascade deps and not overriding that another workaround was needed.

was a bit of a bigger one as I changed from old nix style to nix flakes.
