January has arrived and we are all looking for an alternative to the festive mince pie. In 1783, William Pitt’s government was nicknamed after the temporary mince pie. Find out if this nickname was deserved👇 @GeorgianLords ow.ly/LKGV50LV0gV

Happy New Year everyone! Our pick of December: read about the origins of our Christmas traditions; about why the mince pie is not universally loved; and why the run up to Christmas can leave people feeling miserable. Our last article is about Covid in children, is the goverment doing enough to protect our children? northwestbylines.co.uk/advent/

Very good for shop mince pies. Sometimes the staff overcook them. You can see in the packet. Better hot with oat cream. And a great treat...

I'm ready for the dark part of the year to be over . . . I've been ready for bed for hours and it's only 7:46pm. On the other hand, this time of year brings mincemeat pies, which I am having with red wine.

William Pitt the Younger became Prime Minister in 1783. His Administration was nicknamed the 'Mince Pie Administration' with predictions that it wouldn't outlast the Christmas season. Find out if the nickname was deserved👇 ow.ly/LKGV50LV0gV

Sammy (Greater London, UK) managed to get a lick of one of the mince pies. So far the jury seems to be out on whether these are edible, but at the very least Sammy thinks they aren’t as good as cat treats.

merry Christmas 🎅 had the chat with my 9 year old son about the truth with Santa!! It was difficult, buy he knew the score. Was this the right time? When did you have the talk? We thought we could drag it out gor a few more years but he was asking a few questions last year. This year he accused santa of breaking in and robbing the mince pie and milk,! 😄
