It's impressive what they _did_ get, but some of the "mind reading semantic encoder" 'matches' seem like a bit of creative interpretation.

Also important: "when the researchers tested the AI on people who hadn’t trained the decoder, the results were unintelligible" - so they've taught it a small dictionary of concepts for one person and chatbotted the intervening words?
