Minds comes across as a more polished #TruthSocial.

@marqle @bubblefizzpop @atomicpoet #Minds talked about joining the #Fediverse since 2021 but they just activated #ActivityPub this year (so I understand your surprise).

Despite their reputation, Minds is in a stronger position (financially, user numbers & feature wise) to compete against #Threads & #Tumblr than most platforms, including #Mastodon & #Misskey.

Minds even supports #YouTube imports which is surprising.

@bubblefizzpop @atomicpoet Yes, last I checked #Tumblr will join the #Fediverse, although it will be much later than #Threads (my guess is December of this year for Tumblr, & October for Threads). #PostNews will also join this year too, but I am not sure when.

The biggest surprise this month was #Minds joining the Fediverse, as they were able to fix most of their issues with #ActivityPub.

@alternative_be 😂🤣😂 I created a #Minds account long ago, & I keep it semi-active for testing purposes only, as they currently support #ActivityPub.

But you are correct as there is a lot of unchecked vitriol on the site.

Find people to follow on #minds. Let's make them a big part of the #fediverse. A demonstration of how all these other social networks can become part of one seamless whole. Flip the script and make it seem weird for platforms to not do this, or for someone to be using a service that doesn't federate. Please focus more on the larger network than the few people anywhere you might disagree with (as long as they aren't abusive of course).

@silverpill @mark Yeah, #Minds is working on the web, but not so much via the apps—at least on the iOS/iPadOS beta (which they will probably update soon).

Minds can follow #Pixelfed, #Mastodon, #Misskey, et al, accounts & be followed by #Fediverse accounts in return.

However, Minds is unable to ping Fediverse accounts when mentioning user handles.

They are attempting to solve this but I think they need help as Minds does not seem to making progress on that front.

#minds finally followed through but it took years.

Looking around #Minds , I've seen few extended text articles. Almost every post is just a picture or video, with at most a sentence or two of text. Even links are scarce. I though the site was supposed to be about ideas, but it's a wasteland. The few accounts that look potentially interesting have been abandoned.

Has anyone found some good accounts to follow on #Minds.com? I'll start: @thebabylonbee

@markharding Also, I noticed the #Minds #iPad app does not support Split View in iPadOS. If you have time, you might want to consider supporting the feature as it makes reading & sharing content easier.
