"Capture of the first quarter phase of the Moon. The Moon’s surface material, known as regolith, has subtle colour differences dictated by the mineral composition in any particular area. This mineral distribution on the lunar surface was mapped in great detail by the US Clementine probe in 1994."

This is one of my favorite mineral moon pictures I've taken to date. I never try and do better than anyone else other than myself I always use myself as the measuring stick. A mineral moon is when you turn up the color saturation and you can see the different mineral contents of the Moon. #astronomy #astronerds #astrophotography #mineralmoon
