In the next two decades 17 coal mines will close in Australia's Hunter Valley and 130,000 hectares of land will be available for new uses. First, though, it needs to be restored.

This is the challenge I've worked on over the past half a year with the community org Hunter Renewal. This report, released today, puts forward the community's perspective on what should happen when coal mining finishes.
