Granted noone expects it to be a high-speed storage, tho even the original #RaspberryPi 1 B v1.2 did provide enough speed in #minidlna and #SMB to watch 2160p25 and DCI-4Kp24 over Ethernet from a USB HDD...

So there's that...

Ich nutze ehrlich gesagt auch lieber https://mediathekviewweb.de/ und lade mir dann in meinen #minidlna das runter, was ich (später) (auf der Glotze in gross über einen DLNA fähigen zuspieler wie z.B. PS4) schauen will. Da habe ich dann nur noch ein paar Aufnahmen drin.

Ich habe dann noch mal auf meinen Laufwerken gesucht und die Hörspiel-MP3s von #Otherland gefunden.

Im #OpenMediaVault mal eben das #MiniDLNA-Plugin aktiviert, und jetzt kann ich es lokal streamen.

Up intil 3 years ago I had an original Pi Model B version 1.2 running as #SMB & #DLNA [#minidlna] server and it did 1080p60 streaming quite well.

Now I have some an hp t520 #ThinClient as mini server doing #youtubedl in the background and @fuchsiii has one with a huge SSD inside to do pull-backups of her VPS with #Docker'd #Mastodon, #Nextcloud and #GitLab on...

@kellyn Perfect! The only Chrome extension I install from time to time is Secure Shell (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/secure-shell/iodihamcpbpeioajjeobimgagajmlibd). I use it to mount a harddrive from #Turris #Omnia used in a #MiniDLNA server to add missing subtitles to movies etc.

I’m looking for suggestions on a #minidlna replacement. Having to do a full media rescan when adding new files is starting to get tiring.

Cool to see @Raspberry_Pi here at the fediverse. My favorite piece of hw to run random stuff on. Atm I've got #nextcloud, #HomeAssitant, #deconz, #minidlna, #pihole, and #octopi spread over three RPi4s here at home. And a couple or robots built around PiZeroWs. So much fun for me - and the kids. (yes, I claim it is for them, but I also enjoy it 😜)

J'installe et configure #pavucontrol et #paprefs sur mon pc pour avoir la possibilité de sortir le son en #upnpstreaming. Ni ma #freebox, ni ma #smarttv, ni mon #homecinema,... ne le voient 😕

Je pourrais utiliser mon #steamlink mais c'est un peu disproportionné 😅

L'interaction entre machines dans un réseau local, c'est pas simple. Y a des trucs cool (#minidlna, #gsconnect,...) mais pour le reste, c'est loin d'être plug and play...
