Are there #monitors #displays our there that do this (see image) nicely i.e. have mounts and/or compartments with power for one or more #miniPC or #raspberrypi pi #formfactor #singleboardcomputers #SBC on rear of #monitor and feed #ports to a built-in / attachable #hub #dock #dockingstation #KVMswitch ?

Great, might be time to rebuild my PC again. I guess with hindsight, it was a bit optimistic to run a 12-core Ryzen 9 off a 140mm AIO cooler in my NZXT H1.
Let's hope I can keep the list of "while we're in theres" under halfway under control.
Time to shopping for the smallest #MiniITX case that can accommodate a 2-3 slot graphics card and a 280mm AIO cooler. Anybody got a recommendation for a high quality case?

@mntmn @liaizon Because those are #SingleVendor / #SingleProvider solutions and make you dependent on a single source for boards.
Whereas everyone can design and build boards compliant to the UCFF form factor.
It's kinda like #MiniITX but smaller.
Also the idea is to take the concept from the Desktop PCs, as one isn't throwing away the entire case, Monitor and HIDs when they swap the mainboard - so why should we tolerate the same on mobile devices?

Looking for some advice regarding options for the home media center.
I'm running a NAS that has Plex server happily running on it but I noticed when playing videos on end devices it transcodes often and the transcoding is slow on the NAS which seems to be a common issue.
I'm looking to offload that work. I was thinking of setting up a SFF/MiniITX PC or piece of hardware that does transcoding well and simply install the Plex app and target the Plex server for data. I have a spare GPU I can use already if necessary. I also saw there are devices like the NVIDIA shield. I was thinking for this device it would simply need some GPU w/NVENC or Intel CPU w/QuickSync. Am I missing any options?
If I do go with the SFF/MiniITX build I would need a remote. I was thinking maybe the FLIRC receiver and a legacy remote. Any better options for that?
Lastly does it make sense to skip the Plex server and mount the media directly on either the SFF or NVIDIA Shield, sync the data every so often, and then transcode locally off faster disks? If so is it easy to get a shell or OS-level access on the Shield?

All the things going in to this tiny #Silverstone CS280 are really going to push the #MiniITX limit. #AMD #Ryzen #5700G/64GB DDR4/8x15.36TB. Just waiting for my M.2 10gig NIC and some zip ties lol. #TrueNAS #homelab #datahoarder

Question for all you fine folk: building a mini-itx cluster. I’ve found several awesome cases that can hold the board and CM modules but all of them have a giant hole for a regular PSU and this uses a pico psu. What would you use to cover that PSU hole on the case? Worried too much dust will get in case. And I don’t have a 3D printer or crafting skills…. #MiniITX #Mini-ITX #Cluster #PCCase

Hey all: thinking of buying (preferably) or assembling a #miniITX or #NUC PC or similar that can support running a masto server /pihole (and similar hobbyist things), very occasional gaming, and maybe the ability to crank out Stable Diffusion art once in awhile.
Any recommendations on systems/specs would be appreciated. Kinda trying to avoid assembling, tbh for about 6 different reasons.

What's a flat-as-possible #miniitx board? One where the IO is as high as an HDMI port, with the memory slot(s) on the side, pointing out? I'm talking FLAT. Use-case: bonding to a monitor-tablet's back for minimal thicc. It just needs to run @Krita_Painting and @clipstudiopaint.
