The 1st episode of MCU'S "Secret Invasion" is giving me such "Slow Horses" vibes (the MI6 spy streaming series starring Gary Oldman). That's a *Good* thing.
Anyways I'm enjoying this and I can't comment any further than that without giving away *major*, major spoilers just for the 1st episode of six. Personally a recommended watch from me.

Finally played @cloakanddaggerg 's The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. Loved the setting, atmosphere, protagonist, and voice acting, saddened that the writing fell a bit flat on the home stretch. Puzzles weren't too hard, length (took me 8 hrs) was ideal. Recommendation!

#Netflixā #MonsterHunter (2020) was a lot more fun than its IMDb 5.2 rating suggests. Shame itāll never get a sequel, but itās a decent 93 minute romp, with monsters being hunted, and Leeloo āMultipassā Dallas putting in a great performance. Has a mid-credits scene, and also a human-sized pussycat. #minireview #moviereview #scifi

Last yearās top Palme dāOr prize winning #movie, #TraingleOfSadness, is *brilliant* - the first film Iāve seen in a long time that genuinely had me on the edge of my seat and not able to guess at where it might go. A farce, allegory, dark comedy, and social commentary mixed into one - I really am glad I gave it the full 2.5 hours it demands. Just donāt watch it over dinner. #minireview #moviereview

Chapter 22 of #TheMandalorian (the latest episode, ep.6 ssn.3) is awesome! The cameos were awesome and very appropriate. The plot twist at the chapter ending could have been so much cornier but as they handled it, it makes perfect sense in-universe. And I love the overall flow. Nice one, I love it!

John Wick 4. Ridiculous good fun. Better than 3 by a long way, some truly great action scenes and well paced. I loved it 9/10 #minireview
#ThreeThousandYearsOfLonging (2022) is a lovely #movie, and one I had absolutely no preconceptions about, going in. (Iādāve preferred to have watched it without having read the blurb first, but the very minor spoilers in that paragraph are revealed pretty early on). #IdrisElba and #TildaSwinton star in a gorgeous and gentle sorta-kinda fairy story. #BookReview His Name Was Wren
Read on Kindle.
I really enjoyed this one! It straddles YA but adults would also enjoy it, it has a slightly nostalgic vibe for classic childhood science fiction stories like ET or Aquila.
The child characters were relatable and not at all annoying! The sci-fi elements felt grounded and believable.
Very well written, and well paced. Excellent book.
My only negative is that I just didn't feel super jazzed about it. It's solid but I wasn't excited.
Recommend for ET fans!

#Netflixā #WeHaveAGhost is unexpectedly lovely. A couple of faux jump scares, but theyāre out of the way relatively early, allowing a genuinely nice little film to emerge. Maybe 20 minutes too long for the material, but overall a good watch that Iād happily recommend. #minireview

I have no idea why #Netflixā *fantastic* #MyDadTheBountyHunter (2023) is squirrelled away in the āchildrenā category - itās every bit the narrative equal of their āFinal Spaceā animated series, but without any swearing.
Iām only 3 episodes in, and itās a strong recommend from me - fabulous art style, world building, and characters ⦠with a plot that drives forward really interestingly! #minireview #animation #scifi

As I've been ill for the past few days, I've needed un-challenging but fun and non-edgy telly to gawk at, and the Aussie teen drama "The Bureau of Magical Things" has ticked all the boxes very nicely. Not so much a #recommendation as a "this'll do", if you're ever in the same place, mentally. It's on #Netflix (in the UK). #minireview #TheBureauOfMagicalThings

āBrightburnā (2019) is an excellent alternative take on the early life of a super-powered individual. A quick spoiler-free double #movie #minireview:
# āShotgun Weddingā (2022)
Awful. Made it through maybe 20 minutes, and had to stop.
# āHunter Killerā (2018)
Perfectly serviceable submarine action thriller. A good watch, if unsurprisingly plotted. Gerard B does the job he was hired to do, well.
The #HHGTTG movie: so many iconic ideas and lines, stitched together and delivered /so/ haphazardly and (seemingly) uncaringly. Itās genuinely surprising how poor it is, given its heritage, source material, and pretty decent budget. #minireview
Well, I really enjoyed #Moonfall - a daft, huge, spectacle of a #SciFi #movie. Iād genuinely like to see a sequel, but its critical and commercial failure makes that nigh on impossible.
Definitely not one to watch without throughly suspending your disbelief for a couple of hours, even more than the genre usually demands! #minireview

okay, having played for several (several) hours now, i can safely say:
a) there is so much goddam flavor text in this game! i feel like, instead of listening to music or podcasts at work, i'm gonna whip out my phone and listen to these traveler profile conversations for a while. the writers (and translators? i assume?) and the voice actors are doing an amazing job!
b) the PC controls are MUCH better than the android ones. it took a l o n g time (50 GBs type of long) to download, but it was worth it. this almost plays like a non-gatcha game on the PC.
c) a lot of people compare it to Breath of the Wild, but honestly, it kind of gives me Tales vibes too, and i'm here for it.
d) something must be wrong with me, because i think Paimon's voice is actually getting LESS grating as time goes on... (¬_¬)
e) yes, the music is that good.
all in all, the gatcha monetization model irritates me, but it's easy to see why people like this game so much.
We love "The Witcher" TV series because the story flows and is interesting. The world has bones.
I think we expected something similar from "The Witcher: Blood Origin". We've seen only one episode so far but this is an entirely different beast š
This one wants to be grand in scope for everything. I think was "Epic!" is what they wanted ...
While the story is epic in scope, it's also very simplistic. Everything kind of falls apart if you think too much about the logic of it.
