Something very satisfying about the . I boil it down to a bit of elegant simplicity. are beautiful, the figures within each range feel all belong together, but manage to be individual and carry the “right” amount of detail so they are still lovely to explore.

Think I’ll paint these up, look at an opposing 20-ish Dwarf force, and get a wee refresher/intro game in with someone.

Bedtime meant I could blast these. Very rough and ready, in a big block they’ll do the job nicely. Bashed out over four short sessions. Aimed for a darker twist on classic High Elves instead of classic DE purple, black, and red.

Need basing, just waiting on some tech paint. Aiming for cracked earth and grey drybrush. Again nice and simple along a theme.

The bucks over at have been nattering about - chatting about how it’s a one box and go game. Do wish they’d get a starter set that was 15 of two units and a leaflet of ‘rules lite’. I found the system a really nice rank and flank game, that had some nice mechanics and the official range of miniatures are gorgeous. Would love to see it get more air time from hobbyists.

OK... I think the tents are finished at last :D

And while my original plan was to do a whole 'campsite' tutorial - I think it will be best if I just concentrate on getting the 'tents' video/pdf done for now (as I can always expand upon it with a 'campsite accessories' episode at a later date :) ).

So, with any luck, I'll start filming next week!

Started work one some ghoul flingers for (they're mostly mantic ghouls with some extra bits added from their zombie models, and also a few bits from the frostgrave gnolls and cultist sprues from Northstar).

And I've tried to make it look as though they are carrying lots of junk around with them (to throw at the heroes ;) ) - which will (hopefully) also help to differentiate them from my regular ghouls.

Now I just need to splash some paint on 'em

Painted up a couple of wee fella's with the idea of creating a 'party token' for use on larger scale maps (i.e. little more than a fancy 'you are here' marker :) ).

These are 10mm in scale (and the model on the right is a regular sized mini for scale).

I'll be needing a bunch of ghouls for at some point - so (just like I did with the frostgrave gnolls), I thought I'd have a go at getting a bunch of mantic models painted up reasonably quickly.

So the process for these was:

pic 1: primed
pic 2: base coated
pic 3: washes
pic 4: varnished and based

And considering they've not had any highlights at all, I'm pretty pleased with the results :) ...I think they'll be plenty good enough :D
