I've always called them "mini-splits," which is a very popular category of heat pump not mentioned in this article.
How about #minisplit?
Also, yea, I check out the brand spanking new LGs and Mitsubishi's when I walk these Boise alleys and critique installs. It's coming along.

Wondering whether to let an air source #minisplit #heatpump run and suck in snow during a heavy storm, or if it's better to turn it off and burn oil during the heavy snow event? Any #greenenergy #heating geeks with an informed opinion? I read a study that moderate use of the defrost cycle uses like 5% or 7% extra energy (it seemed like a good study, but I didn't save it). But in heavy snow it will be freezing solid over and over.

#Fujitsu #MiniSplit #Heatpumps holding up on this pretty cold day in #Vermont. -11F now and dropping, turned off the downstairs unit that was holding the line all day. Did it because the woodstove has a nice hickory log in it. Upstairs unit is still heating the bedroom. These things work.
