Someone can talk "equality" all day, then vote for #fascism. Someone can outright use #slurs, but be eager to fight actual #discrimination.
I don't care if people "affirm" me in any specific way, or even at all, I just need them to be passively accepting of my basic #CivilRights.

From my (again, limit, #white perspective) I think #Facebook actually does a pretty good job of projecting a pleasant veneer to a wide diversity of people, including #black and #minority populations.
That isn't to say that Facebook doesn't harbor #Nazis and other #fascists and #bigots, because obviously they do. I just think the relationship with user experience is complicated.

But I have found that if you do not check all the boxes of progressive #orthodoxy, you may be subject to having your integrity questioned, your points scoffed at, and the other opinion still forced on you even after you offer to “agree to disagree.” It’s not everyone, certainly, but it’s enough to make me consider whether I belong here.
