I only planted it as a bare-roots baby last April (2022). I have high hopes for next year. I just took this photo between two downpours of some of my thoroughly waterlogged winter vegetables. Purple Brussels sprouts, Mizuna, broccoli raab, Russian Black kale. The slugs are having a feast but not much I can do with all the rain.

The weather has finally turned seasonably cold. It's also been raining nonstop. Time to open a jar of summer cold therapy, home-canned ratatouille made with vegetables from my August garden.
