I hate the #StarTrek #mirroruniverse episodes. The enterprise one was almost bearable, but it always get like a cheap trick, a well they went to way too often.

So naturally thanks to Covid I started Picard season 2.

@mrawdon #MirrorUniverse episodes are utter *catnip* for me, but you are intriguing me with the mention of an Andorian episode.

@mrawdon Oh god, if there's a way to distill all the #MirrorUniverse episodes from all the series, that would definitely be binge-worthy.

@mrawdon I also punched out early in S1 of Enterprise. Even though I enjoy Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, I just had no patience for so much of an episode being spent angsting about his dog in sickbay. And massive EEUUW to the decontamination gel scene. I suppose I ought to go back one of these days and see if there's stuff in later seasons worth watching. You're tempting me with mentioning a #MirrorUniverse two-parter.

I’ve kind of blocked out the Klingon war from #Discovery S1 because it was such a weak, poorly-told storyline, completely overshadowed by the #MirrorUniverse thread.

I was not much a fan of the Enterprise series, but the mirror universe episodes were absolutely brilliant.

Somebody (Orville maybe) needs to do a parody where the mirror universe is full of chill, amiable folks who are constantly too high on reefer to get much accomplished:

One thing that should make the inhabitants of the #StarTrek universe question their reality & whether there is free will is the #mirrorUniverse. In the mirror universe you find identical copies of people from the prime universe & they have the same names & family blood-relationships in the mirror universe.

Given that the societies are very different & the technology is somewhat different, it is very improbable that you would find people with the same name & the same genetics. It would make you think that God (or a writer) has predetermined who has babies with whom & what names they choose for these babies.

Beyond that, to have these doppelgängers look & act exactly like their prime universe counterparts, these people have to be born from ova and sperm identical to the other universe. The odds against that are literally astronomical.
