Sen. Debbie Stabenow D-MI is not running for reelection in 2024. Democrats have a large number of Senate seats to defend. They did very well State-wide in 2022. So there's hope.

- Slotkin is a formidable candidate, but so are several other candidates. Dems have a crowded bench. Rs do not.

- Don’t overestimate the statewide appeal of a congressional rep in a large state.

- Buttigieg is ambitious, not stupid. He’s not running.

NEW: I asked @JohnJamesMI@twitter.com if he has any interest in a third #MISEN bid in 2024, given the open seat. “Look, I haven’t even been sworn into Congress, yet! So here’s my plan: Get sworn in and get to work serving the people of Michigan’s 10th district.”

One big reason James may go for his third losing US Senate race is that he's going to lose in 2024 anyway because his horrible performance with no real opposition in 2022 shows how weak he is.
