#onthisdate in 1924, #bessmyerson was born in #newyorkcity. In 1945, she became the first, and to date, the only #jewish #missamerica. She parlayed the title into a successful #television and #political career. It came crashing down in 1983 in an #influence peddling #scandal related to a romantic affair. @tleekeene can you imagine if she wins this month, people will be saying “oh it was biased because the judges felt sorry for her because of the war and hard times” …. Guarantee people will say this. Now we need to research what #MissAmerica costume will look like ;)
