playing the clock spot at Pike Place Market with my friend “Blind Dog” Lussier on washboard. I look up at the crowd and, leaning on a pillar near the stairs, watching our show, is Gregory Hines. (look him up, kids.)

very tempted to vamp and say, “Hey! the band’s looking for a hoofer, know anybody?”

but then I think, maybe he’s happy NOT being recognized (and mobbed) by fans.

so I just caught his eye and we exchanged dude nods.

I wish some one had told me in school how important dancing on the internet was gonna be in real life.

As part of my book coaching training, I have been reading Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull, about how he founded a successful business that produced creative and empowered employees who happened to also make movies. That company is Pixar.

As a former architect, I can't help but think that if I had ever worked in a firm that fostered creativity and inclusion and quality work the way Pixar did, I might still be working in the field. #Architecture #MissedOpportunities
