Mr. and Mrs. Naya-san-tachi!! We get vegetables from them every Tuesday. We are among the lucky ones. I held their new baby this week while the ladies were chatting, about eating ヒチマ(Hechima) sponge gourd among other things. They do some great events. I'm looking forward to helping harvest rice this year too.

I had a tour of a local organic farming enterprise today. Thirty-five years ago Fujisaki-san started organic farming with disabled people. Now they run a restaurant while producing eggs, grains, gobou (greater burdock) tea and... The explanation of the local heirloom varieties of beans, millet, and sesame reminded me of Vandana Shiva. Wendell Berry came to mind while hearing how the group has fun together getting millet ready for processing.

I needed some #OrganicCoffee to get through all the stimulation and opportunities at #HandsMan in #Miyakonojyo. It was good to finally get the 16-bricks for a RocketStove in addition to PeatMoss for the BabyChick BackYardChickens and sticky-seal printout papers. I will get DrRacket to produce pdfs for printing labels, save some nice people from dependence on proprietary software.
