I feel like this just isn't true. The #fediverse thrives because it doesn't discriminate between normal people, influencers, celebrities, and governments. Everyone here has an equal say, and (for #mastodon) no algorithms that favor hate and clout. It's easy to have real conversations here when the platform doesn't pander to influencers.
Sure, my "favorite" celebrity might not be on here, but what was I really gaining from following them (they'll never follow me back anyway).

Sometimes, they have short-video content, and it is good quality.
Sometimes, a #3dprinting youtuber posts an update or short review. Again, it ties in with their normal content and quality.
But these channels that purely exist and post short-video content are just frustrating.
Also, #Google and #Youtube, ever thinking I want to watch 5 second videos on my TV, is just stupid.
