Am Mauna Loa (#MLO) wurden für den Julie 2023 422,14 ppm im Durchschnitt gemessen. Der saisonbereinigte Wert betragt 421,76 ppm und ist damit der höchste jemals gemessene saisonbereinigte Wert.

Vor einem Jahr lag der Wert noch 3.29 ppm niedriger. Dies ist der höchste Anstieg von innerhalb eines Jahres.

Dieser Wert kommt nicht überraschend. Seit 2003 ergibt die Extrapolation der Keeling Kurve einen Wert zwischen 421,5 ppm und 422 ppm.

Die #KeelingKurve steigt weiter. Der monatliche Mittelwert für Mai stellt einen neuen Rekord dar und liegt 3 ppm über dem Wert des letzten Jahres.

Die ab 1958 approximierte Kurve zeigt keine signifikante Änderung des Anstieges in den letzten Jahren. Der CO₂-Anstieg von 3 ppm liegt sehr nahe am erwarteten Wert.

Dass Maßnahmen zur CO₂-Reduktion etwas bewirkt hätten, ist aus der Kurve nicht erkennbar.

Am Sonnenblick schwankt die CO₂-Konzentration stärker als am Mauna Loa. Mich wundert, dass es auch am Sonnenblick (#sbo) einen halbjährlichen Zyklus gibt, der sogar stärker als der am MLO ist.

Das Diagramm zeigt die Prognose der CO₂-Konzentration am Mauna Loa für April 2023 seit 2000. In 2000 war die Vorhersage 424,84 ppm, dann fiel bis 2003 auf knapp über 422. Ab 2016 stieg die Prognose kontinuierlich bis 2022. Mit den Daten 1958 bis 2022 war der prognostizierte Wert Anfang 2023 422,85 ppm. Der tatsächliche Wert war 422,73 ppm.

Personally I use #Obsidian plaintext files gives me enough of an escape hatch.

I don’t want it to be my task manager or Journal because my searches get polluted by extraneous material.

In addition while I love #MLO and the dev is a friend, I need a task manager that allows me to share with my team.

The ongoing #volcanic eruption at #MaunaLoa in #Hawaii has caused the Mauna Loa Observatory (#MLO) data series to be temporarily interrupted since November 29. But this does not mean that atmospheric #CO2 monitoring has not been interrupted.
