Yes, I've had enough of #winter, but these late season #Minnesota snowfalls are simply beautiful. The wet #snow sticks to the trees and the temperatures aren't terribly cold. Spring will arrive in the next few weeks, but for now the stunning whiteness is a welcome sight. And the trees and plants are happy, too. #MNastadon #Minneapolis

We got 10" of snow, in the end, enough to cancel school for tomorrow, which feels absolutely bonkers because they only predicted like half an inch. Usually weather folk run around with their hair on fire prophesying disaster when there's a front coming through, so idk why they missed the opportunity for doom crying. I have this image of the weatherman smoking out back in unlaced boots getting a text, freaking, then finding out the door locked behind him.

I was just thinking of the Acadia (it was one of our favorite places to hang out when my girlfriend and I started dating). Two summers ago a bus crashed into the building and since then we learned almost nothing about what caused the crash or what will happen to the cafe.

My 2X Great Grandfather, Thomas McGuire, was a private in the 11th Minnesota infantry during the Civil War. They mostly guarded the L&N railway line into Nashville, TN. Here’s the longest newspaper write-up I’ve yet found on them. This covers the reception they received when returning to St. Paul and has details of their service.
