Thinking a lot about the last week of the #MNFringe. At one time, Twitter was a great place to connect with members of the Fringe community during the Fringe, but I'm not finding any local fringe activity on Mastodon. Maybe this is too niche for Mastodon at this stage in growth.

At this moment, it seems that social media is too fragmented to be an effective tool at events and conferences in the way that Twitter once was.

I can't help but wonder if that moment in time is simply gone.

The #MNFringe is officially over. I saw 16 shows this year, most of which were pretty good. Some of which were excellent. I've come to view the Fringe as the cultural highlight of the year. So much talent, creativity, and experimentation. It's inspiring to hang around and support these artists as a festival volunteer that sometimes aspires to this kind of creativity myself.

Just saw final performance of 'Open Mic Night at the Dream Shop' at the Fringe. It was a fun, energetic, and inspiring mix of poetry, spoken word, and music.

Good news is that you can catch these performers in the future at the Dream Shop in North Minneapolis.

@chrisod I didn't actually go see the Shrieking Harpies tonight, I will see them later. Instead, I thought about what show you might encourage me to see (I had about 10 options) and went with the 10:00pm showing of 'Grindr Help Desk: The Musical.'

Yesterday was my first full day of the Minnesota Fringe Festival. I've seen 4 shows so far and hope to see 2 more tonight.

As usual, the quality varies greatly, but that is part of the experience.
