Been a little quiet on the Nuke Matrix Shadow model kit build, but I managed to finish it up last night. It has loads of options for display, and it was hard deciding whether to display the armoured or unarmoured figure with the bike, or to go with the centaur mode
In the end, I love that motorcycle too damn much not to show it off, and the unarmoured figure just looks great next to it.

In the home stretch of a painted resin model kit. Botched a few bits, didn’t quite get the surface finish right, managed to chip a bit of paint. But… the total effect is gonna be pretty good, and I just have to accept some mistakes so I can finish it and not go insane.

In the end I hope to finish it with a “pretty good” model kit, and a bunch of new learning.

The next one will be better. I feel it.

So I was amoungst the stampede of people trying to pre-order Five Star Stories resin kits on the Volks website. I didn’t get my first pick. Or my second. But I did manage to get a clear version of the Goat Mirage, which I definitely wanted.

Today turned out nice. Weather was beautiful, I went for a walk, days work went by easily, and I got a new model kit.

Specifically, I got a Five Star Stories Speed Mirage. An official resin kit from Volks. Never thought I’d get a proper one — instead of rubbish recasts — but I found it for a good price.

My Tractorial project is completely dead in the water 😔 Too many God damn parts were so so so weak and the holes weren't right that just trying to build it as instructed (and I have built quite a few model kits before this) it ended up breaking beyond the point to where I could finish building it and proudly show it 😭 Do not buy the Revell model of the Porshe Diesel Junior 108 model under any circumstances. I'm so disappointed; this was my most creative endeavor when it came to model building so far and I was so looking forward to it and now it's all down the fucking drain. #PlaMo #ModelKits

After I'm done building Tractorial I'm gonna be building the Subaru Impreza WRX STI and I find myself in a conundrum as I only have regular blue and metallic blue paints and not specifically mica blue. Worried I'll mess up its cool look if I paint it the wrong blue. #PlaMo #modelcars #modelkits

All thanks to those Mobile Suited Damn Guns, I, a girl who scored extremely badly at the mechanical portion of the military ASFAB test I was tricked into taking as a teen, have now increasingly developed an interest in machinery. Things that didn't interest me much or at all like tower cranes or motorcycles and tractors are now fascinating. I wanted to start building my Titanic model today, but turns out I need plastic cement to keep the pieces in place. A little disappointed but the cement itself is pretty cheap and learning how to use it is kinda exciting and may open me up to other plastic models besides Gundams. #Gunpla #ModelKits
