Our #startrek #rpg ship, the USS Midthunder, recently upgraded to Constitution Class after a catastrophic mishap. Modelled as a "what if the SNW Enterprise had a TOS paint job"as a #modelmaking experiment. Decals a mix of kit and DIY inkjet.

Have started getting back into making models lately. It’s been 30-odd years since I last did one and a lot has changed in that time. I started with an Airfix Red Arrows Gnat as it’s not something that I would be overly disappointed to mess up, but I’m actually pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I need to find a good source for some thin rigid straight wires, about the diameter of a standard paper clip. The doors and door frames have holes through the hinge area that accommodate something like that, to make them functional.

Other than a couple of minor paint touch-ups, I think the Commlock is done! Putting on the decals was very nerve-wracking considering I hadn't done it before, and I don't think I put them on very straight either (or securely, the 8 came off on my finger later!) but if I just leave it on a shelf and don't touch it then it should be ok :P. #space1999 #modelmaking

Before #COVID and when were working in the office, I was tasked with making a fun performance board. I went with a NASA Mission Control theme with toggle switches and lights and gages. I even built a rocket out of foam core and had a gantry coming off the dry erase board. I'd show the board but some of it is proprietary so l'll just include a shot of the foam core rocket. This week I made a #3Dprint of the rocket. I painted it with the same color scheme to evoke what I did then. I gave it to my boss and she was gracious enough to send me a picture of it displayed on her desk.

I’ll admit I’d do about 30 things differently if I had to it again. I affirm it’s not my best work but sometimes it’s about letting projects go.

Something different. Abandoned dreamscape.

It's taken far too long to do this, purely because the distressed paint effect (that you can barely see) needs to be done in one sitting and takes about an hour and a half and I couldn't find a point an hour and a half and the motivation to do this specific thing for months. Will be playing with these models a bit more and seeing what surreal landscapes I can create with them.

@snowwrite Not so far. My Mars 3 Pro 3 has a big carbon filter system in it and I am using water based resin. The printer and was and cure station is in my home office too. There are a few fumes but i open the window when i am lifting the pinter lid.

Just did a 6 up print - pleased with these!
