Nua-#CelticSoulJourney in #Wales: `#Moel-y-Gaer is a Prehistoric #hillfort crowning a peak of Llantysilio Mountain. It is a roughly oval 1.1ha enclosure, about 140m east-west by 100m. It is defined by a single rampart, sometimes ditched. The rampart, a stony bank up to 3.0m high, probably conceals a ruined drystone walled rampart. The ground falls away steeply on all sides save the east and here there is an in-turned entrance some 20m deep. Within the ramparts CPAT have identified at least eight building platforms which would have carried great thatched roundhouses. Hillforts such as this are characteristic of later Prehistoric settlement and were often occupied through the Roman period.`

"Be still all who come here
And consider the world at your feet.
Wherever you journey through life
Hold this place close to your heart"
Inscription on the "Millennium Cairn" erected by the villagers of #Rhes-yCae and #Moel-y-Crio on the hillside known as Moel Ffagnallt in #Flintshire, North East #Wales.

In #Irish #Mistletoe #Folklore, a #Nephew of #StPatrick named #Moel had gotten lost in the woods. #Cold & #Hungry, Moel attempted to pick berries from the Mistletoe, but the #Plant kept the #Berries out of reach.
Incensed, Moel #Cursed the #Fruit to be a #Poison & the plant to find no purchase in the #Soil. Instead, the Mistletoe became a #Parasite, forced to rely on the #Charity of other #Plants.
