It being the school half-term and reasonable weather, I decided to make my first trip of the year out of the city to climb up to the beautiful Loch Skeen in the hills above Moffat. Well worth the effort!

Back in the 1980's, I decided to go and explore the #Scottish #Gold Rush (1800's) terrain to the east of #Moffat, and maybe see if I could locate some of the streams my research said were productive, and maybe some of the old workings, and maybe do a little gold-panning myself ...

I took issue with a few plot / motive / character developments during this era but the darkness of #Davies wasn't always better than the heavy-handedness of #Moffat and I felt #Chibnall provided light and fresh air for #Whittaker

Visited Carrifran Wildwood near Moffat last month. Back in 2004 it looked very different. An incredible amount of work has been carried out and a huge number of trees planted, all native species.
