#TravelPhotography from #OnThisDay in 2019 when we found ourselves hiking through the cloud forest at the top of a volcanic rim in #Nicaragua. This is the #Mombacho #Volcano and this lovely bit of lush, dense foliage provided some cool relief from the warmth of the day and that of the heat coming from the volcano's fumaroles that we'd put our hands into. Great views of Lake Nicaragua from the summit too. Hard work, though.

A few years back we visited #Mombacho #Volcano in #Nicaragua and foolishly hiked up it, through the cloud forest, and around the foliage-covered crater. Hot, hard work, but so rewarding. We're heading back to Nicaragua next year and are planning for something less strenuous with some boating on Lake Nicaragua this time around, which you can see in the distance of the last photo.
