Last week a paper was published in Nature Climate Change that concluded that university energy research centres funded by oil and gas produce reports that are more favourable to polluting energy.

In some ways this might seem obvious, but these centres usually pride themselves on objective presentation of the facts.

It makes me wonder how this has affected research and communication Monash University. That university claims they are helping their major sponsor Woodside transition to low-carbon through their Monash-Woodside Energy Partnership. I believe many people involved in the partnership at Monash were well-intentioned, but since it began Woodside has doubled down on new gas projects and generally show they don't give a shit about a liveable planet.

Monash continues to back the partnership and even say it's part of their sustainability leadership. The cognitive dissonance must be hard to bear.

Seems as an exciting article. On my reading list for tomorrow. I also want to learn more about how to do autoethnography. Love to read about educators and their own experiences
