I believe there is a bug in Mongoid 4.15 that breaks expectations of querying has_and_belongs_to_many relationships. Ticket here:

@tuckerteague 😆 since this is getting a lot of boosts, I WILL also say that on the current project I'm on, with a thoroughly microservices architecture, we're NOT using PostgreSQL (or any relational db -- datastores are primarily mongodb/DocumentDB), and in this case it feels appropriate.

If anyone's using my mongodb_meilisearch #Ruby gem , i just noticed a bug where it's indexing additional fields it shouldn't. Won't negatively effect your searches, but will result in wasted resources. I'll try and fix that this weekend.

okay, it's not just me... the #mongoose #middleware is just really poorly designed. Really frustrating for those of us coming from an #activeRecord world where things are just a lot more mature.

Just wish I hadn't lost the hours I just spent banging my head against this. But at least I know now to avoid trying to do anything non-trivial in middleware.

I need #MongoDB for one legacy project where I made the fatal mistake of using this piece of crap instead of a real database. The problem is that we’ve removed MongoDB from #AlpineLinux in v3.10 due to its license change. So I revitalised mongodb aport in my https://github.com/jirutka/user-aports. It’s the latest 4.x version (4.4.5), built for Alpine v3.18, pkgnames: mongodb4, mongodb4-shell. Use at your own risk.

Reading #MongoDB documentation, and can't say that I find it enjoyable.🤔 At least, I miss the dark theme for it.🙂

I honestly cannot read #MongoDB without thinking of that "MongoDB is web-scale" parody video.

Another example: #MongoDB, a free/open database tool that was adopted by #Amazon, which subsequently forked the codebase and tuning it to work on their proprietary cloud infrastructure.

The value of open tooling as a stickytrap for creating a pool of developers who end up as sharecroppers who are glued to a specific company's closed infrastructure is well-understood and openly acknowledged by "open AI" companies.
