The article answers how a company is allowed to grow to such a point where is has such sheer dominance.
There is no "human nature" about it. Humans resist and are highly skeptical of #monopolyFormation. It takes an amount of coersion and #collusion, often in the form of paid #lobbyists (4 per #politician today?) to #policymakers to engineer outcomes that repeatedly serve special interests over #thePeople.
The #corporateCapture of govt is not normal. It's #fascism.
