So Farben built #Monowitz, its own, private-sector concentration camp. IG Farben purchased 25,000 slaves from the Reich, among them as many children as possible (the Reich charged less for child slaves).

41128 followers · 41067 posts · Server mamot.frSince we're on the subject of Hitler, this is a good spot to bring up #Monowitz, a private-sector satellite of #Auschwitz operated by #IGFarben as a slave labor camp to make rubber and other materiel it supplied at a substantial markup to the wermacht. I'd never heard of Monowitz, but Tkacik's description of the camp is chilling, even in comparison to Auschwitz itself.

On 13 January 1945 the number of prisoners in the Auschwitz III-Monowitz camp was 9,806.
The third part of Auschwitz camp was created in October 1942 on the site of the expelled & destroyed Polish village of Monowice. It was linked to the construction of the synthetic rubber plant of IG Farbenindustrie.

3 January 1943 | At 2 pm an SS unit made out of three SS-Unterscharführers and 75 SS-men was sent to Auschwitz III-Monowitz to escort a group of prisoners to Auschwitz II-Birkenau.
On that day the number of prisoners in Monowitz decreased by 1,200. The group included 200 men who were placed in the infirmary there. All the prisoners were murdered in a gas chamber after arrival at Birkenau.

26 November 1942 | An SS doctor made a selection in Blocks 20 and 28 of the camp hospital at Auschwitz I, as well as the infirmary at Auschwitz III-Monowitz.
73 prisoners from Auschwitz I and 13 from Monowitz were murdered with phenol heart injection on the same day.
