The debut record, Animate//Isolate by Minneapolis' #Obsolete totally flew under my radar in '21 - a fantastic technical #death / #thrash album in the vein of #Atheist, #Martyr, #Coroner, #Vektor etc. & hints of oldschool DM melodies/song structure similar to #Hellwitch, #Monstrosity, & older era #Dismember, #Hypocrisy.

Gorgeous cinematography by Burton, hauntingly beautiful score (per usual) by Elfan, Jenna Ortega provided a fantastic performance as Wednesday and Christie is just ahhh-mazing in everything she's in. A complicated (and to me, cozy-familiar) view on #monstrosity, girlhood and identity. Loved it 🖤

Okay so day 2 of an impromptu* #DnD #antagonists / #villains week, & following yesterday's #Troll, today we have WIP/sketch paintings of:
1 - Some sort of mutated spider-#troll-giant (used as a vehicle by cultists?).
2 - A multi-eyed storm giant #monstrosity.
3 - A #Cyclops with a goblin warrior/archer carriage/howdah on its back)

This web-audio interface addresses ways of listening to certain female-sounding voices that are perceived as inappropriate - because of the quality of their sound, their gender, the medium's distortions but also stereotypes and collective memories that they often awake. These are verbal expressions that have been associated with forms of 'monstrosity' since ancient times. You are welcome to contribute with your voices; to record yourselves, expressing your thoughts and choose a type of distortion to participate in forming new imaginaries around a technologically-mediated collective voice, which through its monstrosity can reveal other forms of speech.
