@Inquiry I liked #Montague a lot, but the use of standard logical quantifiers didn't sit right with me. They don't match natural language semantics well, resulting in all kinds of contortions in the structure of the formalizations. It's almost like their scopes are inside out. So I built a system with what I feel is the correct scoping, and what I ended up with is a pattern matching system. I have a knowledge graph, and each sentence gets mapped to a graph pattern, which then matches against the KG to identify a binding point. Then, depending on the sentence type, an operation is performed at that binding point. The system I built was flaky at times, but it was also capable of some very interesting behavior that looked like reasoning despite no reasoning being intentionally implemented.

The General Pierce Bridge, which spans the Connecticut River from #Greenfield to #Montague, will open one lane to alternating traffic by mid-day Friday, 1/19. The full reopening of the bridge will occur once ongoing work is complete, expected late March 2023.
