Many instance admins have committed to block any FB-run instances; others feel that federation will lead to growth of non-commercial social media and provide FB users with more choice.
To be honest, I'm conflicted. FB as a company is irresponsible and untrustworthy (https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/09/myanmar-facebooks-systems-promoted-violence-against-rohingya-meta-owes-reparations-new-report/). Their content moderation policies are questionable at best, their business model exploits users.

Monterey Bay Sunrise
That's right, a sunrise image over the Pacific Ocean in California. This image was captured near Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz California. The sun was low in the sky and rising south of this location. I was shooting south, southeast over the Monterey Bay. The sky was clear of any coastal fog and just light clouds in the sky.
