@EllenInEdmonton We experienced that here on the very rare occasion of attending a pricey (for us) concert in 2012. Thanks to some kind Canadians, we rec'd a ticket to Mumford's June 2012 Gentlemen of the Road tour stop in Monterey. It was so odd to be at a local event where everyone was white. (Over half of Monterey County is Latino/Hispanic.)

To the best of our knowledge (and we confirmed with our most reliable source on this project), this time it's #PG&E, not #Caltrans, impacting a project that #Transportation Agency for #Monterey County has been eager to see happen—as have residents and visitors.

We've avoided such use of word "accident" since a #BikeLeague LCI, Tom Cassera, brought it to our attention in bikemonterey.org's early years. And we've shared with #MontereyCounty media professionals, e.g., #MontereyCountyWeekly about that word; most now use "crash" or "collision" instead of "accident."
It's easy for people to forget why such language is important. Even our state bicycle coalition's staff page https://www.calbike.org/about_us/who_we_are/staff/ needs that word changed (we were told last summer they'd change it; apparently slid down their to-do list).
