All plants with shallow root systems are suffering now. Hopefully a return to maximum temperatures below 30 starting on Sunday. The last significant rain was June 30th with 18 mm.

The recent winds have blown down a lot of trees on the domaine, which I'm in the process of cleaning up. This tree has been long dead and the wood spongy, but dry. These holes must be the remnants of a woodpecker's nest, possibly a European Green Woodpecker (French: Pic verte) given the size of the holes. #Birds #Woodpecker #BirdNest #Languedoc #Montoulieu #PicusViridis
