There is occasional talk of restoring the route to Montréal again but so far (clearly), just talk. At some point, the Montrealer was rerouted via New London, Conn, and the Vermonter stayed on that routing ... but whatever the issue was years ago has long been fixed and the Vermonter now goes north from New Haven. Unlike the Adirondack, the Montrealer ran all the way down the NEC to Washington, DC.
