First go at pruning my pampas grass today ... not touched by me since I started living here 😔

Doubt it was touched in the previous 10 years or more, either 🤔😳

I found it prunes very nicely with the electric hedge trimmer but it produces a fearful amount of litter ... admittedly low density litter but a *lot*

So tried the #MontyDon method of spreading it round the lawn & attacking it with the lawn mower. It is grass, after all 💡 💡

No more clippings than a long cut 😎

Last night we were watching #MyDreamFarm on the Roku Channel's "Gardening With Monty Don"and saw an episode that isn't available on Prime Video

Roku? It's all kinds of awesome and inspiring.)

A few weeks before we finished filming we were in the kitchen with Monty. He was showing me some photos from a recent filming trip.

“Can I photograph your hands?”
“Erm, yes.”

His hands tell a story of his gardening and hard work. They are muscular and ingrained with soil.
He is a very nice chap. And a wonderful storyteller.
