The Nelson Monument on Glasgow Green. Built in 1806, it was the first monument to Lord Nelson (who had died at the Battle of Trafalgar the year before) in Britain paid for by public subscription.

It gave rise to the phrase 'You'll die facing the monument', meaning to be executed by public hanging, as the gallows in the nearby Jail Square faced towards it. As a result, it would be one of the last things the condemned would see.

Le Pont de Sénoueix On le dit « pont romain »,
et il daterai probablement du 17e siècle.
Il ne subsiste de ce pont, constitué d’une seule arche, qu’un reste de voûte en plein cintre. Il devait être maçonné à joints secs.
Les culées, construites en grosses pierres, sont encore visibles.
On aperçoit encore la trace d’une voie pavée qui le traverse de part et d’autre sur quelques mètres.
Autour du pont se trouvent les pierres qui constituaient sa maçonnerie.

Most people associate the ruined domed building in the Peace Park with the epicenter of the , but I've always found it far more poignant that the memorial at the actual a few blocks away is just a small on the sidewalk of an otherwise nondescript side street. You could walk right past it and not even notice it. There's something a bit chilling about that.
