From 2018, my mood photo of today is from our walk to Whitby from Robin Hoods Bay, where we were staying. This was one of our first views of Whitby (though we have been there lots of times), iconic.

My mood photo for Saturday, taken Thursday of this week - Thornwick Bay, on the Flamborough Coast and under constant erosion pressure from a turbulent North Sea. Not today though, a millpond calm sea and its colour a rare capture. Perfect walking weather and perfect stop for a while and be thankful for life moment too.

My mood photo taken yesterday and our last day roaming the cliff tops around Flamborough Head. These puffins were special as they were perched on a low cliff overlooking a rocky beach. They launched themselves from their precarious perches, flew out to sea, circled and darted right over our heads to make a clumsy landing (or not sometimes, having to try again) near their mate.

My mood photo of today, taken a couple of days ago at Bempton Cliffs near Flamborough. Having a coffee and sharing a cake... he - the Jackdaw - was eyeing it up but received only crumbs. Many of his mates were raiding nests of seabirds on the cliffs. They're smart birds, which is why one of the family appears in Joseph Murphy-James' Dingle Valley series that I read to my grandchildren. They're not universally liked, but I think they're great.
